Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG) experienced a data security incident involving Progress Software’s MOVEit Transfer software due to a critical zero-day vulnerability exploited by third parties. PALIG promptly ceased using MOVEit Transfer, disabled it, and deployed security patches. An investigation revealed unauthorized access, potentially compromising personal information, including names, addresses, social security numbers, medical details, and financial information.

PALIG is notifying affected individuals, offering additional services, and reinforcing its cybersecurity measures for third-party tools.
