D’Amico & Pettinicchi, LLC recently discovered a sophisticated cyber-attack on parts of its computer network, which prompted the law firm to issue breach notification letters. The breach occurred between March 21, 2024, and April 25, 2024, and was identified on May 1, 2024. The firm’s forensic investigation revealed that threat actors had accessed parts of the network containing client files, potentially exposing sensitive personal information.
The compromised files included various personal details such as names, dates of birth, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, legal and medical records, insurance information, service dates, and Social Security numbers. Despite this exposure, the firm has no reason to believe that the threat actors accessed or misused the clients’ specific files.
