Data security company Cyera has successfully raised $300 million in a Series D funding round, bringing its total investment since its founding in 2021 to an impressive $760 million. The latest round was led by Accel and Sapphire Ventures, with additional contributions from notable investors such as Sequoia, Redpoint, Coatue, and Georgian. This capital infusion is set to accelerate Cyera’s platform development, expand its research and development efforts, and enhance its sales and marketing strategies, positioning the company for future growth in the competitive data security market.
As part of the funding announcement, Cyera’s co-founder and CEO Yotam Segev shared that the new funding would enable the company to continue innovating in the data security space. The firm aims to attract top-tier talent, particularly in research and development, sales, and marketing, and to strategically acquire technologies that align with its vision for the future of data security. With this funding, Cyera plans to expand its product offerings and increase its footprint in the rapidly growing cloud and data protection sectors.
Cyera’s valuation has surged to $3 billion, more than double its valuation from April, following a successful Series C funding round. This milestone highlights the company’s robust growth trajectory and its increasing importance in the data security landscape. The firm’s cloud-native, agentless platform helps organizations continuously discover, classify, and secure their data across various environments, including cloud, SaaS, data lakes, and on-premises systems. Cyera’s solutions also focus on improving data security posture, privacy, detection and response, and access governance capabilities.
In a move to further strengthen its data security offerings, Cyera also announced the acquisition of Trail Security, a stealth-mode startup specializing in data loss prevention technology. The $162 million deal, which was made in cash and stock, complements Cyera’s existing portfolio by adding advanced data protection solutions to its suite. As Cyera continues to expand its capabilities, the company is poised to make significant strides in helping organizations navigate the growing challenges of securing and managing their data in increasingly complex digital environments.
