CSA and Huawei Enhance Cybersecurity Guide

The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) has joined forces with Huawei Cloud to release the Security Companion Guide, designed to streamline the Cyber Trust mark certification process for enterprises. Unveiled at GovWare 2024, part of Singapore International Cyber Week, this initiative comes in response to alarming statistics indicating that over 80% of organizations in Singapore experienced cybersecurity incidents in the past year. The CSA highlights a significant challenge: a lack of knowledge among organizations regarding their cybersecurity needs, which hampers the adoption of protective measures against cyber threats.

The Security Companion Guide is rooted in the cloud security responsibility-sharing model and aims to provide actionable guidance for organizations looking to bolster their cybersecurity practices. By mapping Huawei Cloud services to the Cyber Trust mark control domains, the guide serves as a reference point for enterprises struggling to meet compliance requirements. This strategic alignment not only helps organizations protect their data and customers but also ensures they are prepared for the evolving threat landscape.

Maxi Wang, CEO of Huawei International, emphasized the importance of democratizing cybersecurity to ensure that businesses can meet regulatory standards while building resilient operations. The Cyber Trust mark certification, introduced by CSA in 2022, distinguishes organizations that demonstrate cybersecurity readiness through five levels of preparedness. This collaborative effort aims to promote widespread adoption of cyber-secure measures, highlighting that cybersecurity is a collective responsibility requiring collaboration between government entities and the private sector.

The partnership between CSA and Huawei Cloud extends beyond Singapore, offering support to enterprises across Southeast Asia seeking to enhance their security posture. By adopting a risk-based approach to assess cybersecurity threats, organizations can maintain continuous readiness and align with ISO27001 standards, which promote best practices in information security management. As Huawei Cloud continues to champion responsible cybersecurity practices, the Security Companion Guide serves as a crucial resource for organizations navigating the complexities of digital security in an increasingly interconnected world.
