Krishna Okhandiar, also known as Charlotte Fang, founder of Remilia and Milady, has reported being hacked after significant amounts of Ether and NFTs were transferred to a wallet involved in asset liquidation. The incident was flagged by Dumpster DAO on X, sharing a screenshot where Okhandiar mentioned being drained, along with a link to the receiving address. Records show the address has sold numerous Milady-linked NFTs, transferring $1 million worth of Ether to another address and holding nearly $1 million in assets.
While the exact method of the alleged hack remains unclear, blockchain security firm PeckShield highlighted a previous transaction from Remilia’s treasury wallet to the implicated wallet. In September 2023, Fang disclosed that a developer in the Milady ecosystem diverted around $1 million in generated fees from Remilia Corporation, seizing control of three key accounts. This incident underscores the vulnerability of crypto platforms to hacking and exploitation, a growing concern in the industry.
Launched in 2021, Milady is a collection of 10,000 anime profile picture NFTs, endorsed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk in May 2023, which significantly boosted their value. Hacks and exploits pose a significant threat to the crypto industry, with $1.8 billion lost to hacks and scams in 2023 alone. Immunefi’s report reveals that 17% of these losses can be attributed to the North Korean Lazarus Group, highlighting the ongoing challenges in securing decentralized finance applications and platforms.
