Claude AI Now Available Across Europe

Anthropic, the Google-backed AI start-up, has announced the release of its latest Claude AI chatbot across Europe, starting Tuesday. This marks the first time users throughout the European Union can access Claude via the web and personal iPhones. Additionally, the chatbot will be available in Switzerland and Iceland. Claude is already widely used globally for accelerating scientific processes, enhancing customer service, and refining writing, with millions of users benefiting from its capabilities. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei expressed excitement about the creative possibilities European users will explore with Claude.

The announcement coincides with the recent introduction of OpenAI’s GPT-4o by Sam Altman, highlighting the competitive AI landscape. In March, the Claude 3 model family was highlighted for its performance, surpassing OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Google’s Gemini 1.0 Ultra in various benchmarks. Dario Amodei described Claude 3 as the “Rolls-Royce of models.” The new multimodal capabilities of Claude 3 allow it to respond to both text and image inputs, similar to GPT-4.

The rollout also includes the Claude iOS app, free for all users, and the “Claude Team” plan for businesses at €28 per user per month. Founded by siblings Dario and Daniela Amodei, former executives at OpenAI, Anthropic aims to extend Claude 3’s reach through Amazon and Google cloud platforms. The company’s vision is to provide advanced AI tools to users in 159 countries, emphasizing the model’s potential to revolutionize various applications, from business operations to personal productivity.
