CISA Launches Logging Made Easy

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has announced the launch of a revamped Logging Made Easy (LME) log management solution for Windows-based devices.

Furthermore, this offering, based on technology developed by the United Kingdom’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), is provided free of charge and can be easily downloaded and self-installed. CISA’s goal is to expand the availability of this straightforward log management solution to a broader audience, simplifying the process of log management to enhance the cybersecurity of various organizations, particularly those with limited resources.

Logging is a critical aspect of bolstering system security, and traditionally, it has posed challenges for many targeted organizations. CISA’s LME solution aims to alleviate the burden associated with log management while improving cybersecurity.

By building on the success of the NCSC’s log management solution, which was discontinued in March 2023, CISA aims to provide a user-friendly, accessible tool for organizations to secure their Windows-based devices. This offering serves as the latest shared service product from CISA, with a focus on simplifying log management and enhancing cybersecurity measures.
