Cider Founder Raises $28M for Sola Security

Guy Flechter, renowned for co-founding Cider Security, has successfully raised $28 million in a Seed funding round for his latest cybersecurity venture, Sola Security. This achievement comes less than two years after Flechter and his co-founder Daniel Krivelevich sold Cider to Palo Alto Networks in a deal valued at $300 million. Despite its relatively short existence and modest initial funding, Cider made a significant impact in the cybersecurity industry, showcasing Flechter’s entrepreneurial acumen.

Sola Security, established only a few months ago and currently operating in stealth mode, aims to innovate within the cybersecurity domain. The startup’s focus remains on developing cutting-edge technologies to address emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Investors in this Seed round include prominent names such as S Capital, S32 (comprising Google veterans), and individual investor Michael Moritz, who notably chose to invest personally rather than through a fund, underscoring his confidence in Flechter’s vision and leadership.

Following his tenure as Chief AppSec Officer at Palo Alto Networks, Flechter’s decision to launch Sola Security reflects his ongoing commitment to advancing cybersecurity practices. His career spans over two decades in Israel’s high-tech sector, including pivotal roles at companies like LivePerson and AppsFlyer, which have solidified his reputation as a leader in cybersecurity innovation. With this latest funding round, Sola Security is poised to unveil its groundbreaking technologies, further cementing Flechter’s legacy of pioneering solutions in an increasingly complex cyber landscape.

As Sola Security continues to develop and refine its offerings, supported by substantial funding and strategic investor backing, the cybersecurity community eagerly anticipates the startup’s future contributions to enhancing digital defenses worldwide. Flechter’s entrepreneurial journey, marked by strategic exits and industry leadership, positions Sola Security as a formidable contender in the evolving realm of cybersecurity innovation.
