Chrome Enterprise Offers Enhanced Security

Google has introduced Chrome Enterprise Premium, a new version of its browser designed for organizations. This product offers extended security controls for a monthly fee per user. It is an upgrade from Chrome Enterprise, now referred to as Chrome Enterprise Core, and provides enhanced threat and data protection, increased control options, and reporting capabilities. The aim of this security-enhanced alternative for enterprises is to strengthen endpoint security at the browser level, where most high-value activities and interactions in the enterprise occur, including authentication, access, communication, collaboration, administration, and even coding.

Chrome Enterprise Premium, available for a monthly fee of $6 per user, offers organizations additional security through various capabilities. These include enterprise-level controls that allow policy enforcement, management of software updates and extensions, and support for multiple TCP protocols such as RDP, SCP, and SSH. Context-based access controls can mitigate data exfiltration risks for both approved and unapproved applications and assist with enforcing continuous Zero Trust access to SaaS and web-based apps. Threat and data protection features partly rely on AI to improve defenses and deliver content inspection, data loss prevention, anti-malware, and anti-phishing. Companies already using Chrome Enterprise Premium have reported significant and immediate benefits, including a 50% reduction in content transfers and the ability to identify and stop attempts to exfiltrate large amounts of corporate information.
