BreachForums Owner Pleads Guilty

Conor Brian Fitzpatrick, also known as Pompompurin and the owner of the BreachForums, has pleaded guilty to multiple hacking charges, including conspiracy to commit access device fraud, solicitation for offering access devices, and possession of child pornography.

At the same time, the BreachForums served as a cybercrime marketplace where members engaged in the illegal sale, purchase, and exchange of compromised data, stolen access devices, and cybercrime tools.

Fitzpatrick’s arrest in March 2023 led to the seizure of evidence from his residence, and he was released on a $300,000 bond signed by his parents.

Furthermore, the charges against Fitzpatrick highlight the severity of his involvement in the cybercrime world. The maximum penalties for the charges include imprisonment, fines, full restitution, forfeiture of assets, and supervised release. Fitzpatrick’s guilty plea reflects a significant development in the ongoing efforts to prosecute individuals involved in illicit online activities. The BreachForums, launched after the seizure of RaidForums, enabled the trading of unauthorized access devices and compromised data among its members.

Additionally, Fitzpatrick’s plea agreement signifies the recognition of his criminal activities and the acceptance of responsibility for his actions. The charges demonstrate the wide range of illegal activities that took place on the BreachForums platform, including the solicitation and sale of illicit items.

With potential imprisonment of up to 40 years and significant fines, the outcome of Fitzpatrick’s case will serve as a deterrent to those involved in cybercrime and underline the seriousness with which such offenses are treated.
