PBS Data Breach Leaks Employee Info

Bouygues Telecom, a major French telecommunications company, has disclosed that it was the victim of a cyberattack resulting in a significant data breach. The incident compromised the personal data of approximately 6.4 million customer accounts, raising serious concerns about the security of sensitive information. The breach was detected by the company’s internal security teams, who immediately initiated an investigation to determine the extent of the unauthorized access and to contain the threat.

Following the discovery of the breach, Bouygues Telecom’s technical teams worked swiftly to resolve the situation.

Their prompt actions were crucial in limiting further damage and restoring the integrity of their systems. The company has since implemented additional security measures to strengthen its defenses against future cyber threats. To ensure full transparency and compliance, Bouygues Telecom has also notified the National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties (CNIL), France’s data protection authority, and filed a formal complaint with the judicial authorities to initiate a legal investigation into the attack.

In an effort to keep its customers informed and supported, Bouygues Telecom has committed to notifying all affected individuals directly. Customers whose data was compromised have been or will be contacted via email or text message, providing them with crucial information about the breach and the steps they can take to protect themselves.

The company’s teams are fully mobilized to assist customers with any questions or concerns they may have regarding the incident.

To facilitate communication and provide comprehensive support, Bouygues Telecom has established a dedicated support system. A specific website has been launched, and a toll-free number (0801 239 901) is available for customers seeking assistance. Furthermore, the company’s online magazine, Bouygues Telecom Mag, offers a detailed file on the security of personal information, equipping customers with the knowledge to better protect their data in an increasingly digital world. These resources aim to empower customers and demonstrate the company’s commitment to mitigating the impact of the cyberattack.
