The Beth Rogers Agency Inc. has notified clients of a recent data security incident involving unauthorized access to an employee’s email account, which was detected on May 10, 2024. The agency prioritizes the privacy and security of personal information and immediately initiated a thorough investigation upon discovering the potential breach. This process included securing the email environment, changing account passwords, and collaborating with external cybersecurity professionals to determine the scope of the incident. While the investigation did not reveal direct evidence of data access or acquisition, it could not definitively rule out the possibility that sensitive data may have been compromised.

As part of the investigation, the agency conducted a comprehensive review of the affected email account, which led to the discovery on July 29, 2024, that certain emails or attachments contained personal information. Although specific details about the personal information involved were not disclosed in the notice, the agency took the precaution of informing clients about the potential risks associated with the breach. The agency has been vigilant in its efforts to ensure that clients are aware of the situation while emphasizing the importance of protecting personal data from misuse.

In response to this incident, the Beth Rogers Agency Inc. is offering identity theft protection services to those potentially affected. These services are provided through IDX, a data breach and recovery expert, and are designed to help individuals mitigate the risks associated with identity theft. The agency highlighted that, as of now, there have been no reported cases of identity fraud linked to this incident, but they remain proactive in offering support to their clients.

The agency reassured clients that it continues to implement significant measures to safeguard personal information and prevent future breaches. They urged clients to stay vigilant and monitor their accounts for any unauthorized transactions or unusual activity. The communication reflects the agency’s commitment to transparency and client protection, ensuring that individuals have access to resources that can assist them in protecting their identities moving forward.
