Apple Lays Off 600 Employees

Apple has terminated over 600 jobs following the cancellation of its self-driving car project, Project Titan. This move marks the end of a decade-long effort dedicated to developing Apple’s own autonomous vehicle. The layoffs come as a significant blow to the employees affected during this transition period.

According to reports, the tech giant is cutting jobs primarily in California, particularly those associated with the now-defunct car and smartwatch display projects. The termination of Project Titan has led to the closure of various facilities and departments related to autonomous vehicle development.

Reports indicate that around 87 individuals worked at a covert facility focusing on screen development, while others were part of the Project Titan team. The termination not only impacts the employees directly involved but also signifies the end of Apple’s ambitious venture into the autonomous vehicle industry.

Despite the layoffs, Apple’s future endeavors remain unclear. Speculation suggests that some employees may transition to other divisions within the company, while others may seek opportunities elsewhere. This move by Apple reflects a broader trend in the tech industry, where several major companies have recently undergone workforce reductions.
