Anonymous Sudan DDoS Attacks Outlook

Outlook.com, the popular email service, has been hit by a series of outages, including multiple disruptions yesterday and ongoing issues today. Hacktivist group Anonymous Sudan has claimed responsibility for launching distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on Outlook.com.

These attacks have caused widespread disruptions for global users, hindering their ability to access and send emails through the service, as well as use the mobile Outlook app. Frustrated Outlook users have taken to social media to express their concerns about the unreliable email service and its impact on their productivity.

Microsoft, the parent company of Outlook.com, initially attributed the outages to a technical issue and provided updates on Twitter stating that they were working on mitigating the problem. However, the company later acknowledged that the impact of the outages had resumed, and they were implementing further measures to address the situation.

Meanwhile, Anonymous Sudan has claimed responsibility for the DDoS attacks and expressed their motivation as a protest against the US involvement in Sudanese internal affairs. The group has taunted Microsoft, demanding a ransom of $1 million to cease the attacks and offering to instruct Microsoft’s cyber-security experts on how to defend against them.

Although the claims made by Anonymous Sudan remain unverified, the Outlook.com service has indeed been experiencing sluggishness and a series of outages over the past 24 hours.

As users continue to face disruptions and uncertainty surrounding the situation, it remains to be seen how Microsoft will effectively address the ongoing DDoS attacks and restore the reliability of the Outlook.com service.
