Microsoft has introduced an early preview of Windows Copilot, an AI-powered personal assistant, to Windows 11 Insiders in the Dev Channel.
Revealed at this year’s Build conference, Windows Copilot aims to provide users with centralized AI assistance. Accessible through a taskbar button or the WIN + C keyboard shortcut, the Copilot panel appears on the right side of the screen and remains pinned while users interact with other applications.
According to Panos Panay, Microsoft’s head of Windows and Devices, the Windows Copilot sidebar offers consistent access across various apps, enabling users to seamlessly customize settings and connect with their favorite applications.
The Windows 11 Copilot facilitates users in issuing commands for the AI to automatically modify settings or perform actions within the operating system.
Examples of commands include switching to dark mode, activating do not disturb, taking screenshots, summarizing websites, generating stories, or creating images based on user requests.
This AI-driven personal assistant is designed to enhance user productivity by providing uninterrupted and easily accessible support across a wide range of tasks and applications.
