A group of pro-Ukraine hackers recently executed cyberattacks on the Spotify accounts of prominent Russian musicians, known for their support of the Kremlin and Russia’s actions in Ukraine.
Furthermore, these hackers targeted well-known artists like Nikolay Baskov, Grigory Leps, Oleg Gazmanov, and the rock band Leningrad, replacing their profile images with the Ukrainian flag and featuring messages urging an end to the war in Ukraine. The attacks also included uploading images of the Ukrainian rapper Clonnex, along with screenshots from the game Roblox, possibly linked to the attackers.
Spotify confirmed the breach, stating that they have fixed the issue, although some profiles remain altered due to caching. The hackers revealed their list of targeted accounts on a Telegram channel, and Ukrainian rapper Clonnex responded to the incident with a TikTok-style video. Some of the Russian artists targeted have distanced themselves from Spotify, calling it an “enemy platform.”
