Security specialist WatchGuard Technologies has completed its acquisition of CyGlass Technology Services, a provider specializing in cloud and network-centric threat detection and response.
CyGlass deploys AI and ML techniques within its cloud-native platform to protect hybrid networks, primarily targeting small to mid-sized organizations. CyGlass’s founder and CEO, Ed Jackowiak, expressed the company’s mission to enhance network defense against sophisticated attacks, with WatchGuard’s Unified Security Platform providing a global platform for this endeavor.
Andrew Young, WatchGuard’s chief product officer, highlighted the success of CyGlass in catering to mid-sized companies and MSPs seeking innovative detection and response solutions without reliance on costly hardware.
The integration of CyGlass technology into WatchGuard’s solutions is expected to offer a competitive advantage to partners, driving increased revenue and margin opportunities. This partnership will also provide enhanced XDR insights, telemetry from third-party devices such as switches, and simplified regulatory and cyber-insurance compliance.
WatchGuard’s immediate focus post-acquisition is to extend support to existing CyGlass customers and partners while seamlessly integrating CyGlass’s technology into the WatchGuard platform. The terms of the acquisition, including financial details, have not been disclosed. This strategic move positions WatchGuard to offer advanced network security solutions to a broader customer base, particularly benefiting small to mid-sized organizations in need of effective threat detection and response capabilities.
