CardX, a major digital financial platform in Thailand, recently revealed a data breach incident that exposed the personal information of customers who had applied for personal loans and cash cards. The breach included details such as customers’ first and last names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.

Furthermore, CardX assured customers that this data cannot be used for financial transactions. However, they cautioned customers to remain vigilant against potential fraud attempts through phone calls, SMS, or fraudulent emails.

The company promptly responded to the incident by bolstering its security measures and implementing proactive monitoring and auditing processes to prevent future data breaches. CardX clarified that the breach had no impact on customers’ financial information and emphasized that the incident was unrelated to the information systems of Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) or other companies within the SCB X Group. SCB is one of Thailand’s largest banks, dating back to 1904.

In light of the breach, CardX issued an apology to affected customers and extended its commitment to assist them. Customers who may have questions or concerns can contact CardX through its hotline or reach out to the company’s data protection officer (DPO) via email. The company also urged customers to adopt proactive measures to safeguard themselves against potential fraudulent online activities and adhere to industry best practices.
