Microsoft Rolls Out Phone Link for iOS

Microsoft has begun rolling out Phone Link for iOS to all Windows 11 and iPhone users, aiming to complete the rollout by mid-May.

The app allows users to connect from their PC to Android and iOS devices via a Wi-Fi connection.

Users can pick their iPhones from the Phone Link for iOS app’s homepage, and after pairing and enabling the necessary permissions, they can see mobile notifications, keep up with messages, and make or take calls from their Windows 11 computer.

The basic iOS support provided by Phone Link for iOS includes calls, messages, and access to contacts. While it does not support replying to group messages or sending media in messages, it does allow users to receive notifications on their Windows 11 PC and choose which action to take.

Phone Link for iOS requires an iPhone running iOS 14 or higher, a Windows 11 device, a Bluetooth connection, and the latest version of the Phone Link app.

Phone Link for iOS replaces the Your Phone app, which was introduced in 2018. Microsoft announced an updated user interface for Windows 11 and an easier way to configure it with a QR code scan during the Windows 11 launch in March 2022, replacing the Your Phone app.

With the rollout of Phone Link for iOS, Microsoft has enabled its users to connect their iPhones and Windows 11 PCs seamlessly, creating a more integrated experience across devices.
