Plastic Surgery Center Faces Data Breach

Maxxis International recently reported a data breach affecting sensitive personal information. The breach occurred between October 17 and October 19, 2024, after an employee clicked on a malicious link. This allowed an unauthorized third party to access the company’s computer systems. The company immediately began an investigation into the incident upon detecting unusual activity on October 19.

During the investigation, Maxxis determined that personal information had been compromised, though the specific types of data exposed have not been disclosed. The affected information may include names, Social Security numbers, financial account details, and health records, among other sensitive data. Maxxis has yet to reveal the full extent of the breach or the identities of those impacted. However, the company is providing individuals with more detailed information regarding the breach.

Maxxis took steps to address the breach by notifying impacted individuals through data breach letters mailed on April 21, 2025. The letters included information about the breach, the types of affected personal information, and steps individuals can take to protect themselves. Additionally, Maxxis is offering complimentary credit monitoring services for 24 months to those affected by the breach. The company has also stated it is enhancing its data security protocols to prevent future incidents.

Founded in 1967, Maxxis International is a tire manufacturing company headquartered in Suwanee, Georgia. It offers a range of products for bicycles, cars, trucks, ATVs, and other vehicles, with operations in over 160 countries. The company has been operating in the U.S. since 1985 and employs over 20,000 people globally. Maxxis continues to work with cybersecurity experts to strengthen its infrastructure following the breach.
