WK Kellogg Data Breach Exposes Personal Info

Food for the Poor, Inc. (FFTP), a non-profit organization based in Florida, announced a data breach. The breach was first detected on September 6, 2024, when FFTP noticed unusual activity on its network. An investigation revealed that between September 2 and 6, 2024, unauthorized third-party access potentially exposed sensitive personal data. The compromised data includes names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport information, tax IDs, financial account details, health records, and more.

The organization promptly reviewed the impacted data to identify the individuals whose information was compromised.

FFTP then worked to assess the full scope of the breach and determine which types of sensitive information had been exposed. Affected individuals were informed of the breach through notifications sent on April 4, 2025. The breach notice included details about the types of personal information involved and steps for monitoring the impact of the breach.

FFTP is offering complimentary credit monitoring services to those affected, helping them mitigate the potential risks. As a charitable organization with a mission to alleviate hunger and poverty in Latin America and the Caribbean, this breach is particularly concerning. The breach affects individuals who entrusted FFTP with their personal data, which was meant to help the organization fulfill its humanitarian objectives.

The organization is committed to addressing the breach and strengthening its security measures.

Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Coconut Creek, Florida, FFTP provides vital services, including emergency relief, water, education, housing, and medical care. It operates with the goal of assisting vulnerable populations, including children and the elderly, across multiple countries. The breach highlights the risks that even non-profits face in securing sensitive data, with FFTP now focused on restoring trust and safeguarding its network against future attacks.
