Cyberattack Hits Lithuania Emergency Website

DHR Health, a healthcare system located in Edinburg, Texas, was hit by a cyberattack that impacted its information systems. The hospital system issued a statement Thursday confirming the attack and assuring the public that its dedicated IT teams were actively working to restore full functionality. Although no specific details were provided regarding whether sensitive patient or staff data had been compromised, the statement emphasized that the situation was being closely managed.

The hospital system emphasized that patient care remained its highest priority, and there was no disruption to services.

DHR Health reassured the community that established backup protocols were in place to ensure smooth operations. The statement highlighted that staff was fully equipped to handle the situation effectively while maintaining uninterrupted patient care, which was the core focus throughout the incident.

By Friday, some phone lines were still down, and calls were answered by an operator who helped connect callers. DHR Health continued to direct patients to its 956-DOCTORS line for assistance, ensuring continued access to its services despite technical difficulties.

The hospital system also took to social media, confirming that clinics remained open to patients despite the cyberattack affecting its information systems.

In addition to thanking the community, staff, and patients for their support and patience, DHR Health assured that it would remain operational to serve the community. The statement concluded by reiterating that its IT teams were working diligently to restore full functionality. Despite the cyber incident, the hospital system remained confident in its ability to continue providing healthcare services while resolving the issue promptly.
