iGaming Sector Faces Billions in Losses

Jamf, an Apple device management company, has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Identity Automation, a provider of identity and access management (IAM) solutions, for $215 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of fiscal year 2025, contingent on certain conditions. The acquisition aligns with Jamf’s strategy to enhance its security offerings and integrate dynamic identity and access management solutions into its platform. Identity Automation is known for its cloud-based IAM platform that helps organizations manage identities, access governance, and authentication.

Identity Automation specializes in managing dynamic identities that frequently change, particularly in sectors like education.

The company’s platform continuously adjusts access, device management, and security policies based on factors such as user roles, grade levels, schedules, and locations. This dynamic approach makes it particularly useful in environments where users’ needs and roles are frequently adjusted, such as in educational institutions, where roles of students and staff vary by grade or district.

Jamf’s CEO, John Strosahl, expressed excitement about integrating Identity Automation’s capabilities with Jamf’s existing security solutions.

The goal is to streamline and simplify the user experience, making it easier for organizations to manage access to resources in a user-friendly way. With this integration, Jamf aims to offer faster, more dynamic access to the tools and resources users need to be productive, which is crucial in organizations with rapidly changing workforces or fluctuating roles.

This acquisition will benefit organizations with shared-device models, deskless workers, temporary staff, and contractors by reducing the time and complexity involved in onboarding and offboarding users. By streamlining these processes, Jamf expects to help organizations ensure that users can quickly access the tools they need without unnecessary delays. The combined solutions are expected to improve both security and productivity for businesses with dynamic user needs.
