NioCorp Reports $500,000 Loss in Cyberattack

On February 20, 2025, North American Breaker Company, LLC (NABCO), an electrical wholesale company based in Burbank, California, reported a data breach to the Attorney General of Texas. The breach potentially exposed sensitive personal and protected health information stored in NABCO’s systems.

Although further details about the breach have not been publicly released by the company as of that date, the information that may have been accessed includes personal identifiers such as names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, as well as medical and health insurance information.

The breach was discovered by NABCO, and the company immediately began notifying impacted individuals, according to the Attorney General’s report.

The notice outlined that personal and health-related data might have been exposed to unauthorized access, which raises concerns for those affected. While the company has not yet disclosed the full scope of the breach or how the unauthorized access occurred, it has taken steps to inform those potentially impacted by the incident.

NABCO, founded in 1996, is a supplier of electrical equipment and operates numerous distribution centers across North America. The company, which sells name-brand circuit breakers, fuses, motor control switches, and other electrical devices, serves the United States and Canada from its facilities.

NABCO has become an integral part of the electrical wholesale sector, operating from more than 500,000 square feet of material across its distribution centers.

As of the latest updates, the company has not provided additional details on how many individuals were affected or the specific nature of the breach. However, the company is working to resolve the situation while continuing its operations and providing services to customers. It remains to be seen how this breach will affect NABCO’s reputation and operations moving forward.
