CyberArk Acquires Zilla Security for IGA

Pig Butchering Scams Surge in Crypto Fraud

CyberArk has expanded its identity security offerings with the acquisition of Zilla Security, a Boston-based startup, for $165 million. The move is aimed at enhancing CyberArk’s identity governance and administration (IGA) capabilities. Zilla Security, known for its AI-driven tools that automate processes like user provisioning and compliance reviews, will be integrated into CyberArk’s broader Identity Security Platform. This acquisition follows CyberArk’s $1.54 billion purchase of Venafi in 2024, highlighting the company’s strategy to build a unified, cloud-first solution for managing human and machine identities.

The Zilla Security acquisition is part of CyberArk’s effort to address the challenges organizations face in managing both human and machine identities across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Zilla’s AI-driven approach is seen as a solution to the inefficiencies in legacy IGA systems, providing automation for traditionally labor-intensive tasks. CyberArk plans to incorporate Zilla’s capabilities into its identity platform to offer a single, unified interface for privilege management, lifecycle automation, and integrations with widely used SaaS and cloud applications.

This integration is designed to reduce deployment times and administrative overhead for organizations struggling with the expanding use of SaaS applications. The goal is to help enterprises manage secure and compliant access for both users and applications, which has become increasingly complex as cloud infrastructures grow. The acquisition reflects the company’s belief that modern IGA solutions are essential to meet the evolving demands of identity security.

CyberArk’s strategy to invest in identity security aligns with its broader goal of creating an enterprise-scale, unified platform. The Venafi acquisition in 2024 marked a significant step toward addressing machine identity security, and the addition of Zilla’s IGA capabilities further strengthens CyberArk’s portfolio. By combining these technologies, CyberArk is positioning itself to meet the growing demand for comprehensive identity and access management solutions, essential for enterprises operating in today’s complex digital landscape.
