Vantage Financial Group, based in Toledo, has notified its clients of an email breach that occurred between August 28, 2024, and September 5, 2024. The breach involved unauthorized access to an employee’s email account. After detecting unusual activity, Vantage promptly began an investigation and completed an initial review of the account by December 5, 2024. The review determined that various personal information, including names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and financial account details, had been exposed.

The company has since implemented measures to secure its email systems and investigate further. Vantage is also collaborating with federal law enforcement to address the incident. In addition to the internal review, Vantage is notifying affected individuals and providing access to credit monitoring services for a period of 12 months, free of charge.

These steps are part of the company’s ongoing commitment to the privacy and security of the information it manages.

Vantage is advising impacted individuals to stay vigilant for any signs of identity theft or fraud. The company encourages clients to review their account statements and take advantage of the offered credit monitoring. For additional protection, individuals are advised to enroll in the offered services, which will include daily credit monitoring, identity restoration assistance, and identity theft insurance.

To further safeguard their information, Vantage recommends that individuals regularly check their credit reports and monitor their financial activity. Clients have the option to place fraud alerts or credit freezes with major credit bureaus to prevent unauthorized use of their personal information. Vantage is providing guidance on how to take these steps and ensuring that those affected can access resources to resolve any potential issues arising from the breach.
