On February 4, 2025, KraftCPAs PLLC, a Nashville-based certified public accounting and advisory firm, reported a data breach after discovering that an unauthorized party accessed parts of its computer network. The breach involved the exposure of sensitive consumer information, including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and driver’s license numbers. The firm quickly responded by isolating the affected sections of its network and bringing in outside cybersecurity experts to assist with the investigation and secure the compromised systems. KraftCPAs also filed a notice with the Attorney General of Massachusetts regarding the breach.

Following the breach, KraftCPAs conducted a thorough review to determine the extent of the compromised information and identify the individuals affected.

The investigation confirmed that the breach involved files and folders containing confidential consumer data, which had been accessed by the unauthorized party. The firm’s response included notifying all affected individuals through data breach letters, which detailed the specific information that was compromised for each person involved. These letters aim to keep victims informed of the breach and the potential risks to their personal data.

KraftCPAs has emphasized that the breach was detected through unusual activity within its network. Upon discovering the irregularities, the company acted swiftly by isolating the compromised areas and securing its systems. The involvement of external cybersecurity specialists has been critical in managing the situation and minimizing further damage. While the breach’s full scope is still being investigated, KraftCPAs is committed to providing all relevant details to those affected and taking necessary steps to prevent future incidents.

As a prominent accounting and advisory firm, KraftCPAs provides a wide range of financial services to businesses and individuals across industries, including healthcare, financial institutions, and manufacturing. The company employs around 250 people and generates approximately $34 million in annual revenue. Despite this breach, KraftCPAs continues to offer tax planning, audit services, business valuation, and risk advisory, ensuring that it remains focused on meeting the financial and operational needs of its clients while addressing the breach’s impact.
