Rhino Linux 2025.1 Brings Exciting Updates

Rhino Linux 2025.1 is a major update that brings a wealth of new features and enhancements. The introduction of the “Hello Rhino” app, built with Rust and IcedTK, is designed to improve the post-installation experience by providing quick access to the community, documentation, and blogs. The Unicorn Desktop has also been upgraded with dynamic workspaces, mirroring the GNOME workflow, allowing for seamless creation and removal of workspaces based on user needs. Additionally, the update introduces a custom GRUB theme that provides a modern and cohesive visual experience starting from boot.

For users eager to explore new features, the release includes Rhino Stampede, a testing meta-package for developers. The Pacstall package manager has received major updates, including better translation support, new syntaxes, and debugging tools, improving the overall package management experience. The update also brings kernel improvements, with the generic ISO shipping with version 6.12.3, along with custom kernels for Pine64 and Raspberry Pi for better performance. The system also resolves several minor issues, such as the missing “Install Rhino Linux” desktop icon on live images.

This release reflects Rhino Linux’s commitment to enhancing the user experience with both new and improved features. Whether you’re a casual user or a developer, Rhino Linux 2025.1 promises to be an exciting and efficient update, making the system more streamlined, productive, and visually appealing. With all the new capabilities, it’s the perfect time to update to Rhino Linux 2025.1 and enjoy a more powerful experience.
