US Secretary Yellen’s Computer Hacked

A Denial of Service (DoS) cyberattack recently targeted the SYZEFXIS network, which supports the Greek government’s public sector services. The Ministry of Digital Governance released a statement on Thursday afternoon, confirming that the attack had caused significant disruptions, particularly with the response speeds of several applications on the gov.gr portal. The attack was described as “extensive” and originated from abroad, affecting the network’s efficiency. Public services, including Taxisnet, were impacted, causing users to encounter error messages when trying to access certain services.

The SYZEFXIS network, part of Greece’s ongoing initiative to enhance public sector infrastructure, faced considerable issues during the attack. The public sector network is designed to integrate voice, video, and data infrastructure for government entities. Despite the disruption, the Ministry assured the public that all efforts were being made to restore full functionality to the network. Authorities worked on mitigating the effects of the attack while ensuring essential public services were brought back online as quickly as possible.

The impact of the DoS attack was felt primarily in the slowdowns of various government applications

The impact of the DoS attack was felt primarily in the slowdowns of various government applications, but no sensitive data was reported to have been compromised. As the attack targeted the server with excessive connection requests, it rendered the system temporarily inoperable. The issues affected both backend systems and user access to online services, creating considerable inconvenience for the public. The Ministry emphasized its commitment to resolving the issue and maintaining the security of government networks.

In the aftermath of the attack, the Ministry provided an update confirming that the SYZEFXIS network had been restored to full operational capacity. The statement also reassured the public that the digital services would continue to be closely monitored to avoid further disruptions. This incident highlighted the vulnerability of public sector networks to external threats and underscored the ongoing need for robust cybersecurity measures to protect government infrastructure.
