EQT has announced the sale of Open Systems to Swiss Post, a strategic move that strengthens Swiss Post’s digital communication services and cybersecurity capabilities. Open Systems, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, offers a cloud-based Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platform that simplifies global connectivity and network management. The company provides 24/7 support and plays a critical role in helping organizations globally with their network and cybersecurity transformations.

EQT acquired a majority stake in Open Systems in 2017, and under its ownership, the company saw significant growth, nearly doubling its sales and tripling its EBITDA. Open Systems transitioned from a network-focused managed security services provider to a leader in SASE technology with a comprehensive cybersecurity platform. During this time, Open Systems also expanded through strategic acquisitions, including Sqooba, a Swiss data science and cyber services provider.

As part of the acquisition, Open Systems will continue its growth under CEO Daniel Neuhaus and remain focused on delivering top-tier SASE and cybersecurity solutions. Swiss Post’s acquisition supports its goal to strengthen its digital offerings, especially in the cybersecurity space, for businesses in Switzerland. The deal is expected to enhance Swiss Post’s ability to provide secure and efficient network and communication services to its customers.

The transaction is expected to close in Q4 2024, pending regulatory approvals. Open Systems’ leadership and innovative technology are seen as a perfect fit for Swiss Post’s long-term strategy to expand its cybersecurity expertise and deliver advanced cloud security solutions to businesses globally.
