Noble Biomaterials Reports Data Breach

Noble Biomaterials, a medical device manufacturer based in Scranton, Pennsylvania, reported a security incident to federal authorities after discovering suspicious activity on its network. The company, which is registered with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), launched an investigation into the issue. It was determined that malware had infected its systems, blocking access to certain files. The malware was present between July 25 and August 3, 2024, and unauthorized access to systems storing sensitive employee data was suspected.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that personal information, including names and Social Security numbers, could have been compromised. Despite this, Noble Biomaterials found no evidence of identity theft or fraud linked to the incident. As a precautionary measure, the company took steps to locate address information for the affected individuals in order to notify them about the breach. The company acted swiftly to mitigate any further risks and ensure the protection of its systems.

Noble Biomaterials also took several steps to address the incident, including notifying federal law enforcement authorities. The company has committed to cooperating with ongoing investigations and is working to improve the security of its systems. This breach prompted the company to implement additional safeguards to protect the sensitive data of its employees. Noble has emphasized its commitment to data security and is taking proactive measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

In response to the breach, Noble is also enhancing its employee training programs to increase awareness of cybersecurity threats. The company is determined to strengthen its defenses against cyberattacks and to ensure its systems are more resilient in the face of potential security risks. Noble’s swift response to the breach reflects its commitment to maintaining the privacy and security of personal information, while working to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
