The second vulnerability, CVE-2024-7890, is related to improper privilege management, enabling a low-privileged user to escalate privileges to SYSTEM level. This vulnerability carries a CVSS v4.0 base score of 5.4, highlighting a medium to high-risk level for systems running the affected versions of the app.
Citrix advises customers to immediately upgrade to the latest fixed versions of the Citrix Workspace app for Windows to mitigate these vulnerabilities. The security updates are available for Citrix Workspace app for Windows versions 2405 and later for the current release (CR), and 2402 CU1 LTSR or later versions for long-term service releases (LTSR). Additionally, users of version 2203.1 LTSR CU6 Hotfix 3 are also advised to install the latest fixes to ensure their systems are protected against these privilege escalation vulnerabilities.
