NoIR Laser Company Notifies of Data Breach

NoIR Laser Company, LLC recently notified individuals of a potential incident involving their personal information. While there is no evidence to suggest any misuse of the information, the company is alerting affected individuals as a precautionary measure. As part of their response, NoIR is offering free access to credit monitoring services through Equifax for 24 months to help safeguard personal information. The company also encourages individuals to be proactive and monitor their credit reports for any suspicious activity.

The company explained that consumers are entitled to request a free annual credit report from the three major credit bureaus—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. NoIR advises individuals to review their reports for any discrepancies, such as unauthorized accounts or inquiries. Additionally, the company outlined the process for placing fraud alerts or credit freezes on credit files, which can help prevent new credit from being opened in the affected individuals’ names.

NoIR also provided detailed instructions on how to place fraud alerts or credit freezes, emphasizing that these measures are free of charge. A fraud alert can be placed for one year, requiring businesses to verify identity before extending new credit, while an extended fraud alert can last up to seven years for victims of identity theft. The company outlined the procedure for placing a credit freeze, which prevents the credit bureaus from releasing information without the individual’s express consent.

To further assist individuals, NoIR mentioned that those affected by this event may file a police report if they are victims of identity theft. The company also directed individuals to the Federal Trade Commission for additional guidance on preventing identity theft and fraud. NoIR remains committed to providing support and ensuring that individuals have the tools necessary to protect themselves from potential harm. For additional inquiries, NoIR provided a contact number for individuals seeking more information.
