JAS Worldwide, a global freight forwarder operating in over 100 countries, has announced significant progress in restoring its central operations following a ransomware cyberattack that impacted its services. The company reported that key functionalities, including customer service, billing, payment systems, and data integration with clients and vendors, have largely been restored. Despite the disruptions, JAS Worldwide reassured its clients that it remains dedicated to maintaining high service levels while addressing any outstanding technical issues that may linger.

In an alert released by the company, JAS Worldwide emphasized its commitment to a thorough recovery process while remaining vigilant against potential risks. The company is actively monitoring its systems and implementing additional security measures to mitigate the chances of future disruptions. As part of this effort, they are also working through backlogged requests and resolving any local-specific functionalities that may still experience issues. The alert highlighted that the majority of the company’s contract logistics business and several entities remained unaffected by the attack.

The cyberattack, first reported on August 27, caused significant technical disruptions for JAS Worldwide, hindering its ability to operate effectively. Upon identifying the issue, the company immediately took action to secure its systems and initiated an investigation with the assistance of external cybersecurity experts. JAS Worldwide confirmed that the incident was caused by ransomware and noted that, despite the attack, its email and website systems remained secure throughout the incident.

In response to the cyberattack, JAS Worldwide has adopted additional security measures to enhance its protection against future threats.
