Philip Colt Moss from Iowa has been indicted for his alleged involvement in the creation and distribution of animal crush videos, which depict extreme violence and sexual abuse against monkeys. The indictment was unsealed, revealing charges of conspiracy to produce these disturbing videos, along with the distribution of such content. Moss is accused of conspiring with Nicholas Dryden and Giancarlo Morelli, who were previously indicted and are currently awaiting trial for their roles in the same conspiracy.

The videos in question reportedly show graphic acts of violence against monkeys, including severe abuse such as burning and cutting their genitals and sexual assault using foreign objects. These acts of cruelty were allegedly documented and shared as part of the conspiracy. The horrific nature of the content has drawn significant attention and condemnation from animal rights advocates and the public.

If convicted, Moss faces serious penalties, including a maximum of five years for conspiracy and up to seven years for the charges related to the creation and distribution of animal crush videos. A federal district court will determine his sentence based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors. The case highlights the ongoing legal efforts to combat animal cruelty and enforce existing laws against such horrific acts.

The investigation has been conducted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the FBI, showcasing a coordinated effort to tackle this type of animal abuse. Senior Trial Attorney Adam Cullman and Assistant U.S. Attorney Tim Oakley are overseeing the prosecution, reflecting the seriousness of the charges and the commitment to holding those involved accountable for their actions.
