Tuskira Raises $28.5M for AI Security Mesh

Tuskira, a cybersecurity startup, has raised $28.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Intel Capital. The company, based in San Francisco, has emerged from stealth mode with ambitious plans to enhance threat defense systems using artificial intelligence (AI). The funding round also saw participation from SYN Ventures, Sorenson Capital, Rain Capital, and Wipro Ventures. Tuskira’s cutting-edge technology promises to address the growing challenge of fragmented security tools by developing an AI-powered security mesh that integrates over 150 existing security tools into a unified system.

The primary objective behind Tuskira’s innovative platform is to provide enterprises with real-time data and automation for improving security measures. The AI-powered mesh will enable automated vulnerability exploit analysis, improving security controls across diverse environments such as code, cloud infrastructures, applications, and IT systems. This holistic approach seeks to reduce the complexity of managing multiple security tools, streamlining operations while enhancing overall defense capabilities.

Tuskira’s founders, who previously led Accurics (acquired by Tenable for $160 million), aim to tackle the challenge of alert fatigue and reactive security measures. The company believes that businesses need to move beyond merely responding to attacks and adopt proactive strategies to identify and address vulnerabilities before they can be exploited. By leveraging AI, Tuskira’s platform will optimize security controls, offering actionable insights that help organizations anticipate and prevent potential attacks.

With the cybersecurity landscape evolving rapidly, the need for proactive security measures has never been greater. Tuskira’s GenAI-powered security mesh is designed to fill the critical gap left by traditional, fragmented security solutions. The company’s investment in AI-powered automation, coupled with its focus on integrating fragmented security tools, positions it as a promising player in the cybersecurity space, poised to help businesses stay ahead of attackers and safeguard their operations.
