Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cybersecurity Institute

The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan has decided to establish an international-standard cybersecurity institute in Peshawar. This initiative aims to provide comprehensive cybersecurity education, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degree programs, to the youth of the province. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, with key officials from the Higher Education and Science Technology & Information Technology departments in attendance.

The new institute will be set up in an existing government building, and the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of finalizing the project’s details promptly. He instructed the relevant departments to prepare proposals for formal approval and assured that all necessary resources would be allocated to support the institute. The establishment of this institute reflects the provincial government’s commitment to enhancing the information technology sector and providing advanced education and training in cybersecurity.

Chief Minister Gandapur highlighted that this initiative is timely and essential, considering the growing importance of cybersecurity. He stressed the need for the province to invest in IT education and leverage its potential to offer better employment opportunities for the youth at both national and international levels. The government plans to extend such educational facilities to divisional headquarters in the future.

The Chief Minister also acknowledged the talent present among the youth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and expressed the provincial government’s dedication to creating opportunities for them in various sectors. This initiative is part of a broader effort to support the technological advancement and skill development of the province’s younger generation.
