Protect AI Acquires SydeLabs for Security

Protect AI has announced its acquisition of SydeLabs, enhancing its capabilities in AI security, particularly in automated attack simulations for generative AI systems. This strategic move positions Protect AI as a leader in end-to-end AI security solutions, enabling comprehensive vulnerability assessments for large language models (LLMs). The new product, rebranded as Protect AI Recon, will allow customers to stress test their AI systems and better protect against emerging security risks.

Founded by former Google and MPL leaders, SydeLabs has quickly gained recognition in AI security, offering its cutting-edge product, SydeBox. By joining Protect AI, SydeLabs’ team will help expand the company’s reach in AI security while integrating local talent in Bangalore with existing teams in Seattle and Berlin. This collaboration will bolster Protect AI’s security posture management platform, making it easier for organizations to adopt secure AI applications.

The integration of SydeBox into Protect AI’s offerings aligns with increasing demands for robust security solutions, particularly amid regulatory guidelines and industry standards. Recon will provide features like no-code integration and model-agnostic scanning to identify vulnerabilities in LLMs, helping enterprises deploy AI applications confidently. This acquisition underscores Protect AI’s commitment to enhancing security measures across the rapidly evolving landscape of generative AI.

With the addition of Recon, Protect AI aims to solidify its leadership in AI security and posture management, differentiating itself from competitors. The combined expertise of Protect AI and SydeLabs promises a comprehensive defense solution for organizations, ensuring the integrity and safety of their AI systems. This strategic acquisition reflects the growing importance of securing AI technologies in various sectors, safeguarding them against potential threats.
