K3 Technology Expands with OG2 Acquisition

K3 Technology has acquired Dallas-based MSP OG2 Network Services, aiming to expand its presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, which is significantly larger than its current market in Denver. This acquisition brings K3 new clients in Dallas, where it previously had none, and allows it to strengthen its offerings in cloud, cybersecurity, and AI. CEO Kelly Kercher emphasized the strategic importance of this move, highlighting the potential for growth in a larger market.

The deal involves the transfer of five OG2 employees to K3, although specific financial terms were not disclosed. OG2’s founder, Andrew Mathews, who is retiring, explained that his company was never intended for sale but became a possibility due to health issues he faced following a serious accident. He prioritized finding a buyer that would care for both his clients and employees, describing K3 as an ideal match.

Mathews noted that he had multiple offers but found K3’s proposal to be the closest to meeting his expectations. He expressed satisfaction with the arrangement, stating that he wanted a deal that ensured the well-being of his employees and clients while maintaining his own happiness. The acquisition represents a positive transition for both parties, allowing K3 to enhance its services while ensuring continuity for OG2’s clients.

K3 is evolving rapidly in response to AI advancements and is committed to adapting its operations. To facilitate this transformation, the company has brought on Ian Romero as COO, focusing on aligning technology solutions with client goals. This approach emphasizes understanding client needs and providing tailored technology solutions to enhance efficiency and achieve objectives more effectively.
