The Allergy Medical Group of the North Area, Inc has recently informed the Attorney General of California about a data breach that may have compromised sensitive personal and protected health information. The breach was detected on February 29, 2024, when suspicious activity was noted on one of AMG’s network servers. This prompted the organization to launch a thorough investigation to ascertain the nature of the incident and the extent of the information that may have been accessed by unauthorized parties. Through this investigation, AMG discovered that sensitive personal information within its systems could have been accessed, necessitating a careful review of the data to identify the individuals affected.

On July 25, 2024, AMG completed its review, revealing that various types of sensitive information may have been exposed. This included crucial data such as names, addresses, dates of birth, financial account numbers, patient identification numbers, health information, and health insurance information. Recognizing the severity of the situation, AMG moved quickly to ensure that affected individuals were informed and provided with the necessary support to mitigate any potential risks associated with the breach.

In compliance with legal requirements, AMG began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals on August 19, 2024. These letters outlined the specific types of sensitive information that may have been compromised and included details on how individuals could protect themselves. In a proactive step, AMG is also offering 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services to help affected individuals monitor their personal information and mitigate the risks of identity theft or fraud that may arise from the breach.

Founded in 1977, AMG operates as a healthcare provider specializing in the management of allergies and asthma. Based in California, the organization offers a variety of services aimed at helping patients manage their allergies, including comprehensive allergy testing, asthma treatment, and immune evaluations. With headquarters in Roseville and an additional location in Yuba City, AMG continues to prioritize patient care while addressing the concerns raised by this data breach incident. The organization remains committed to maintaining the security of personal information in its systems and has taken steps to prevent future occurrences.
