The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has unveiled a transformative new platform, CISA Learning, designed to enhance and modernize cybersecurity training for federal employees, veterans, and key partners across the nation. This next-generation learning management system (LMS) replaces the Federal Virtual Training Environment (FedVTE) and builds upon the tools that were instrumental in delivering free cybersecurity training to government employees, contractors, and U.S. veterans. With the evolving demands of cybersecurity, CISA Learning aims to provide a more scalable, robust, and user-friendly platform for those working to secure the nation’s critical infrastructure.
CISA Learning offers a variety of training formats tailored to meet the diverse needs of users, whether they are working from an office, at home, or in the field. The system includes in-person, classroom-based training for hands-on learning, virtual instructor-led sessions for real-time engagement, and self-paced online modules to allow individuals to learn at their own convenience. By offering multiple formats, CISA Learning ensures that all users can access the training they need regardless of their location or schedule, making it a flexible and accessible resource for the cybersecurity workforce.
One of the standout features of CISA Learning is its centralization of all training resources under one unified platform. This consolidation eliminates the need for multiple training systems and provides a seamless user experience for those seeking to advance their cybersecurity skills. The platform also offers enhanced administrative features, such as simplified course enrollment, progress tracking, and detailed reporting capabilities. These improvements allow both users and administrators to manage and monitor the training process more effectively, ensuring that participants stay on track and meet their learning goals.
In addition to improving the user experience, CISA Learning expands access to critical training resources beyond federal employees. The platform is available to state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) government agencies, U.S. military personnel, veterans, and even the general public, all free of charge. This inclusivity underscores CISA’s commitment to strengthening the national cybersecurity workforce and promoting collaboration among various sectors. The migration from FedVTE to CISA Learning ensures that all previously available content, including over 850 hours of training aligned with the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Framework, is now accessible through a more advanced and scalable platform. With specialized courses for certifications such as Ethical Hacking, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), CISA Learning is positioning itself as a cornerstone in the future of cybersecurity education.
