Silverfort Acquires Rezonate for Security

Silverfort, a leading identity security firm based in Boston, has acquired Rezonate, a cloud identity security startup, to strengthen its position in the rapidly expanding cybersecurity market. Rezonate, founded by former Israeli cyber defense chief Roy Akerman, specializes in protecting identities across cloud environments like AWS, Azure, and SaaS applications. This acquisition enables Silverfort to integrate Rezonate’s robust cloud security capabilities with its own expertise in on-premises identity protection, offering customers a unified and comprehensive identity security solution.

The acquisition aims to consolidate Silverfort’s identity security platform, simplifying security management and reducing operational costs for enterprises. By merging Rezonate’s cloud security with Silverfort’s on-premises offerings, the company will deliver a seamless security experience across all environments, making it easier for organizations to protect their entire tech stack from identity-based threats. Hed Kovetz, co-founder and CEO of Silverfort, emphasized the importance of offering an end-to-end identity protection platform to address the complex and evolving cybersecurity landscape.

Rezonate’s modern, scalable design and deep expertise in securing cloud identities will complement Silverfort’s existing solutions, enabling the company to detect threats across both cloud and on-premises systems. The integration of the two platforms will help businesses detect and respond to identity-based threats more effectively, particularly in the face of increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks that target both cloud and legacy on-premises systems. The integration process is expected to be completed by mid-2025, with a focus on consolidating backend data processing to enhance threat visibility and response time.

This acquisition marks a significant step in Silverfort’s long-term strategy to expand its market leadership in identity security. Kovetz noted that Silverfort plans to continue its acquisition strategy to become a consolidator in the identity security market. By simplifying identity protection across environments and reducing the complexity of managing separate security solutions, Silverfort is positioning itself to meet the growing demand for unified, efficient security platforms that protect against identity-related cyber threats. The company’s vision is to offer a comprehensive solution that addresses all aspects of identity security for enterprises, both now and in the future.
