The attack, which targeted the university’s Waterford campus on Friday, prompted an immediate response from the IT team. Fortunately, officials have reported that there is currently no evidence indicating any compromise of data or sensitive information. Simon Woodworth, a lecturer at Cork University Business School, highlighted the importance of containing the cyberattack to prevent it from spreading to other campuses, particularly the Carlow campus.
