Conscia Acquires PlanNet21 Group in Ireland

Cybersecurity firm Conscia has officially entered the Irish market by acquiring PlanNet21 Group, a prominent technology solutions provider based in Dublin. This acquisition marks a significant step for Conscia, which has established a strong presence across the UK and Europe. With PlanNet21 Group generating close to €70 million in revenues for the fiscal year 2022/23, the move underscores Conscia’s commitment to expanding its footprint in the technology sector, particularly in the realm of cybersecurity, secure networking, and IT infrastructure solutions.

PlanNet21 Group has built a solid reputation over the past two decades, serving both public and private sector clients. The company caters to around 300 customers across various industries, including technology, media, telecommunications, and government. The synergy between Conscia and PlanNet21 is expected to create a compelling customer proposition, combining their extensive expertise in cybersecurity and networking services. Group CEO Erik Bertman expressed enthusiasm for the cultural and commercial fit between the two companies, emphasizing the potential for enhanced customer offerings.

The acquisition not only strengthens Conscia’s market position but also expands its service capabilities. With a presence in several European countries, including Denmark, Germany, Norway, and the Netherlands, Conscia supports over 1,000 customers across diverse sectors such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. The integration of PlanNet21’s services will enable Conscia to deliver a more comprehensive package of cybersecurity and networking solutions to its clientele, further solidifying its status as a leading player in the industry.

CEO Peter Carroll of PlanNet21 Group highlighted the benefits of this partnership, stating that Conscia’s financial strength and expertise in networking competencies will accelerate their development. The combined operations of both firms are projected to generate over €700 million in revenue for the current fiscal year, showcasing the growth potential of this acquisition. Rolf Torsøe from Nordic Capital Advisors expressed optimism about the merger, emphasizing that the union of the two companies will enable Conscia to enhance its growth trajectory and solidify its position as a key player in the European cybersecurity market.
