Piranha Games Alerts on Privacy Incident

Piranha Games Inc. has informed affected individuals about a recent incident that may have compromised the privacy of their information. Due to Massachusetts law requirements, specific details regarding the nature of the incident are not available. However, Piranha emphasizes its commitment to data confidentiality and has provided resources to help individuals protect their personal information.

The company advises individuals to monitor their credit reports, which can be obtained for free once a year from each of the three major credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. They recommend using the website www.annualcreditreport.com or calling 1-877-322-8228 to request these reports.

Additionally, Piranha suggests placing a fraud alert or credit freeze on credit files. An initial fraud alert lasts one year and requires businesses to verify identity before granting credit. An extended fraud alert, for identity theft victims, lasts seven years. A credit freeze prevents the release of credit information without authorization but may delay approval for new credit or loans.

To request a credit freeze, individuals may need to provide personal information such as full name, Social Security number, date of birth, and proof of current address. They should also include any relevant identification and, if applicable, a police report or investigative report concerning identity theft.
