ProPark Mobility Hit With Data Breach

On September 3, 2024, ProPark Mobility, a prominent player in the parking and mobility sector, reported a significant data breach to the California Attorney General. The breach, which affected the company’s computer network, potentially compromised sensitive employee information. The unauthorized access occurred between January 15 and January 18, 2024, prompting ProPark to take immediate action. The company swiftly blocked the unauthorized access and sought assistance from cybersecurity experts to assess the extent of the breach.

ProPark’s investigation revealed that the unauthorized party had the potential to access and possibly remove confidential data from their network. Following this discovery, ProPark began notifying affected individuals via data breach letters, informing them of the potential exposure of their personal information. Although the notification letter available on the California Attorney General’s website does not detail the specific types of data leaked, affected individuals should receive personalized communications outlining the nature of the compromised information.

The company has also reached out to law enforcement to aid in the ongoing investigation of the incident. ProPark’s proactive measures include reviewing the compromised files to better understand what data was affected and to help mitigate potential risks. The company has emphasized the importance of vigilance for those impacted, advising them to be on guard against possible fraud or identity theft.

Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, ProPark Mobility operates over 1,000 locations across more than 140 cities in the U.S. The company is a key player in the parking, mobility, and electrification sectors, providing services ranging from parking lot management to valet services and shuttle operations. With a workforce of over 5,600 employees and annual revenues of approximately $1.1 billion, ProPark Mobility remains committed to addressing the breach and safeguarding the information of its employees and clients.
