Jacobsen Data Breach Exposes Sensitive Info

In November 2023, Jacobsen Construction Co., Inc. discovered a data breach that potentially compromised sensitive personal information in its systems. The breach occurred between September 21, 2023, and November 26, 2023, during which an unauthorized third party accessed this information. On June 14, 2024, Jacobsen began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted by the breach.

The exposed information includes names, Social Security numbers, and financial account details. Jacobsen is taking steps to address the incident and mitigate any potential harm to the affected individuals. The company is working closely with cybersecurity experts to investigate the breach and enhance its security measures to prevent future occurrences.

Jacobsen, an employee-owned construction company based in Utah, was founded in 1922 and is recognized as one of the nation’s top general contractors. The company specializes in a variety of projects, including healthcare, higher education, commercial, civic, technology, historic renovation, and religious projects. Jacobsen offers comprehensive construction services, such as preconstruction, consulting, general contracting, construction management, design and build services, integrated project delivery, virtual design, and building information modeling.

In addition to its primary operations, Jacobsen has established a new business unit, Jacobsen Building Services (JBS), which focuses on modifications, remodels, and capital improvement projects ranging from $5K to $2M. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jacobsen also has three additional locations in the United States and employs over 700 individuals. The company remains committed to maintaining high standards of service and security for its clients and employees.
