The company Sirius, which provides ticketing software for over 350 concert halls in France, experienced a cyberattack reported on June 28. Hackers gained unauthorized access to a production server, compromising the confidentiality of the data stored on it. This breach affected various personal details, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, and postal addresses, but did not involve banking information.
The MC2 theater in Grenoble, which uses Sirius’s ticketing system, was among the affected organizations. In response to the breach, the theater has informed its customers and advised them to change passwords for their online accounts. They also suggested monitoring for any unusual activity related to their accounts.
Following the incident, the MC2 theater has taken steps to update and secure customer passwords and has notified the National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties (CNIL) about the attack. This move is part of a broader effort to address and mitigate the impact of the breach.
The theater’s guidance emphasizes the importance of updating passwords and being vigilant about potential data misuse. Customers are encouraged to review and secure their other accounts, ensuring their personal information remains protected following the breach.
