On May 27, 2024, OceanAir detected connectivity issues on its computer network, prompting the company to take affected systems offline for investigation. During this review, it was revealed that certain files had been copied without authorization on the same day.

The company undertook a comprehensive analysis to identify the contents of these files, determine their relevance, and locate the affected individuals to notify them. The investigation concluded on July 17, 2024. The compromised information included personal details such as names and other sensitive data. In response to the breach, OceanAir arranged for notifications and offered complimentary identity monitoring services to those impacted. This service aims to help individuals monitor their accounts, credit reports, and take preventive measures against identity theft and fraud.

OceanAir is taking proactive steps to address the incident by evaluating and enhancing its security measures. The company is committed to improving its policies, procedures, and technical safeguards to reduce the risk of future breaches. It is also providing guidance on fraud prevention and encouraging affected individuals to review their accounts and enroll in the offered identity monitoring services. In addition to these measures, OceanAir is focused on ongoing assessment and improvement of its security posture. The company aims to bolster its defenses against similar incidents and maintain transparency with affected individuals throughout the recovery process. This incident highlights the importance of robust cybersecurity practices and timely response to data breaches.
