Vivamax Hit With Major Data Breach

Vivamax, a leading video streaming service specializing in mature content, has recently confirmed a serious data breach that has compromised the personal and transactional information of its subscribers. The breach, which has resulted in the exposure of 2.08GB of data, includes sensitive details from over 6.8 million accounts. This data was accessed through API scraping using authenticated admin privileges, which allowed attackers to bypass security measures and extract valuable subscriber information. The leaked data includes full names, phone numbers, email addresses, country registrations, account creation dates, subscription IDs, subscription start and end times, subscription types (such as Google, HUAWEI, Card, Apple, PayMaya), and parental control PINs. Additionally, the transactional data file, amounting to 1.0GB, contains multiple transaction rows per subscriber.

Vivamax has issued an official statement addressing the breach, emphasizing its commitment to addressing the issue with urgency and seriousness. The company is conducting a thorough investigation to assess the full scope of the breach and confirm the exact extent of the compromised information. In response to the incident, Vivamax has implemented enhanced security measures to protect its systems and prevent further unauthorized access. The company is also collaborating with law enforcement and cybersecurity experts to address the situation and secure its network against future threats.

The breach has raised significant concerns about the security of personal data in the digital age, highlighting the vulnerabilities that can be exploited by cybercriminals. Vivamax’s proactive measures include strengthening its security protocols and working closely with authorities to manage the fallout from the breach. The company has pledged to keep its customers informed with regular updates as the investigation progresses, aiming to restore trust and provide clarity on the steps being taken to rectify the situation.

Subscribers are advised to be vigilant and monitor their accounts for any unusual activity or unauthorized transactions. Vivamax has recommended that affected individuals update their passwords and review their account security settings. The incident underscores the importance of robust cybersecurity practices and the need for continuous vigilance in protecting personal data. As Vivamax works to resolve the breach and enhance its security infrastructure, the company remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and privacy of its users.
